States play an essential role in conserving and recovering species listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), 16 U.S.C. 1535. Listed species under NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service’s (NMFS) jurisdiction may spend all or part of their life cycles in state waters, and success in conserving these species depends largely on working cooperatively with the States. NMFS is authorized to provide Federal assistance to eligible State agencies to support the development and implementation of conservation programs for listed marine and anadromous species that reside within that State. This assistance, provided in the form of grants or cooperative agreements through the Species Recovery Grants to States Program, can be used to support conservation activities for any endangered or threatened species, as well as monitoring candidate species, recently delisted species, and species proposed for listing under the ESA. Funded activities may include development and implementation of management efforts, scientific research, and public education and outreach. Proposals should seek to address priority actions in ESA Recovery Plans or Recovery Outlines to the extent possible. Any State agency that has entered into an agreement with NMFS pursuant to section 6(c) of the ESA or enters into such an agreement within 30 days of the application deadline is eligible to a...

The U.S. Department of State’s Embassy Lomé announces an open competition to implement programs that strengthen the strategic relationship between the United States and Togo. This foreign assistance opportunity seeks targeted, results‑oriented projects that promote economic growth, enhance security cooperation, and highlight American innovation and leadership. The program’s main goals are to support commercial ties that create jobs and drive innovation, encourage co-funding between U.S. and Togolese organizations, and shift our relationship from “aid to trade”. We also aim to deepen security ties by supporting joint efforts in law enforcement, protecting critical infrastructure, and promoting Togo’s role in regional stability. This Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) helps researchers develop skills in violence prevention research. The goal is to support scientists in becoming independent researchers. Applicants must propose a research project that focuses on at least one of the following NCIPC research priorities related to interpersonal violence and suicide affecting children and youth (birth to age 17). These research priorities include adverse childhood experiences, child abuse and neglect, youth violence, intimate partner violence (including teen dating violence), sexual violence, suicide, and cross-cutting preventions (i.e. examining two or more of these priority topics). For more information, see https://www.cdc.gov/injury-violence-prevention/programs/research-priorities.html. Applicants are encouraged to explore multiple forms of interpersonal violence and/or suicide among children or youth, community factors that increase the risk of interpersonal violence and/or suicide, and the practical relevance of the research for prevention and intervention efforts.

The USGS Earthquake Hazards Program (EHP) issues this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for assistance to support research in earthquake hazards, the physics of earthquakes, earthquake occurrence, and earthquake safety policy. This activity is authorized by the Earthquake Hazards Reduction Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-124, 42 U.S.C. 7701 et. seq.), and as amended by the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Reauthorization Act of 2018 (Public Law 115-307).It is estimated that a total of $4 million will be awarded in support of competitive research grants in FY2027, with a maximum total of $7 million. Based on awards in recent years, approximately 50 to 70 new awards are funded each fiscal year. There is no maximum award amount (i.e., any amount may be proposed if it can be justified appropriately), however, the majority of grants range between $30,000 and $120,000. This estimate does not bind the USGS to a specified number of awards or to the amount of any award unless that amount is specified by statute or regulation. This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) competitive grants solicitation supports external research partnerships that are essential to the Earthquake Hazards Program (EHP) mission. The goal is to generate scientific information and situational awareness products that help the program reduce deaths, injuries, and economic losses from earthquakes, and improve pub...

NOAA/NMFS is soliciting competitive proposals for grants and cooperative agreements for projects that will support NOAA’s mission for stewardship of living marine resources and the sustainable management of U.S. commercial longline fisheries. Projects will ensure data pipelines are in place to inform the sustainable management of U.S. commercial fisheries that interact with endangered species as they migrate throughout the Pacific — a problem that has led to fishery closures when annual interaction limits are reached. Through these efforts, NOAA will strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. commercial longline fisheries, creating a more level playing field for American fishermen, while reinforcing U.S. leadership in marine resource management. Projects must benefit aggregations of endangered marine turtles that have documented linkages to the Pacific Islands Region (PIR), are impacted by PIR federally managed commercial fisheries, and address NOAA’s Endangered Species Act (ESA) recovery obligations. For the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 funding competition, we are soliciting projects that: 1) monitor and implement protection measures to conserve western Pacific leatherback sea turtles occurring in the Coral Triangle region (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, or Solomon Islands); 2) monitor and implement protection measures to conserve North Pacific loggerhead sea tur...

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) seeks applications for innovative research in clinical informatics. The overarching goal of this forthcoming program is to catalyze the development and advancement of novel informatics methodologies that empower clinicians, patients, and the broader public to better understand, manage, and improve health and health care delivery. This NOFO will support research focused on the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical informatics tools and methods that enable data-driven discovery, promote evidence-based decision-making, and support personalized and precision health care. Emphasis will be placed on domain-independent, scalable, and reusable/reproducible approaches for the discovery, analysis, organization, and management of health-related digital objects—including electronic health records (EHRs), clinical notes, imaging data, and patient-generated data. The aim is to transform raw and heterogeneous health data into actionable knowledge, to develop innovative tools, and to implement practical applications that can be generalized across multiple clinical settings and populations. Projects should demonstrate the potential to accelerate scientific insights, improve clinical workflows, and ultimately lead to improved health outcomes.

The purpose of this notice is to solicit applications for two funding categories: (1) Planning and (2) Bridge Project grants (a project with total eligible costs not greater than $100 million) for awards under the Bridge Investment Program (BIP). This notice establishes a “rolling application” process for Planning and Bridge Project applications by providing the schedule, requirements, and selection process for such projects for the remaining available amounts of the BIP funding provided by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for FY 2023 through FY 2026, which total up to $9.7 billion (see section B.1 for details for funds available for each fiscal year). FHWA is soliciting applications for the other BIP project category in a separate NOFO available on Grants.gov, listing number 693JJ323NF00019: Large Bridge Project (a project with total eligible costs greater than $100 million). A total of up to $3.0 billion of FY 2025 and FY 2026 remains available for Large Bridge Project grants and Bridge Project grants. This Amendment No. 2 amends the announcement published on December 20, 2023. This amended NOFO among other things aligns the NOFO with current Administration and Department policies and priorities, provides a process for FY 2025 cycle applications to amend their applications, and other updates. A redline version of the NOFO that identifies amendments is provided...
