The purpose of this NOFO is to improved awareness and knowledge of alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) in the United States. AGS is an emerging condition and is not nationally notifiable. This NOFO seeks to improve AGS surveillance, patient care, and public awareness and understanding. The NOFO strategies are to 1) SHARE - Formation of a network of AGS professionals to disseminate latest knowledge of AGS among stakeholders, including public health agencies, academic researchers, and advocacy groups, in order to improve patient care for AGS and the public health response. 2) EDUCATE - Create AGS communications targeted at the general public, AGS patients, or persons at higher risk for tick encounters (outdoor enthusiasts, dog owners, outdoor workers, etc.). Create communications targeted at healthcare providers including educational resources and training. 3) TRACK - Conduct active or enhances public health surveillance for AGS. This strategy could involve patient populations or geographical locations with limited access to specialized healthcare provider care.

The Hazardous Materials State Inspection (HMSI) Grant is a new financial assistance program (as of FY 2022) that provides grants to states for the performance of hazardous material shipper inspections that leverage available resources, improve the safety of hazardous materials transport, reduce fatalities, and reduce injuries.

CS - Community Safety Grants provide funding to nonprofit organizations whose mission includes activities to enhance the capability of communities to prepare for and respond to hazmat accidents and incidents. Types of activities include training for state and local enforcement personnel enforcing requirements for safe HAZMAT transportation. Deliverables/expected outcomes: Improve accident readiness in the communities. Intended beneficiary: may have nationwide benefits to all constituents of the nonprofit grantee. Subrecipient activities: No known subrecipients.

The ALERT grant promotes hazmat response training for volunteer or remote emergency responders. Response activities include the transportation of crude oil, ethanol, and other flammable liquids by rail consistent with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. The ALERT grant is competitively awarded to non-profit organizations capable of delivering an established curriculum to emergency responders.

PHMSA seeks to provide funding to states to reduce damage to underground pipelines. Excavation damage is a leading cause of pipeline incidents in the United States. Since 2008, PHMSA has awarded more than $23.5 million in SDP grants to more than 40 state-designated entities to assist with pipeline damage prevention enforcement, outreach, and education.

The purpose of the Damage Prevention grants is to establish comprehensive state programs designed to prevent damage to underground pipelines in states that do not have such programs and to improve damage prevention programs in states that do. States are encouraged to implement the following nine elements of an effective damage prevention program: Element 1 ¿ Enhanced Communication between Operators and Excavators Element 2 ¿ Fostering Support and Partnership of all Stakeholders Element 3 ¿ Operator¿s Use of Performance Measures for Locators Element 4 ¿ Partnership in Employee Training Element 5 ¿ Partnership in Public Education Element 6 ¿ Enforcement Agencies¿ Role to Help Resolve Issues Element 7 ¿ Fair and Consistent Enforcement of the Law Element 8 ¿ Use of Technology to Improve the Locating Process Element 9 ¿ Data Analysis to Continually Improve Program Effectiveness

The SPST Grant Program was authorized by Congress in the Hazardous Materials Transportation Authorization Act of 1994 (P. L. 103¿311), which amended 49 U.S.C. § 5116 and added a new subsection (i) concerning supplemental training grants. SPST grants are open to national nonprofit fire service organizations to train instructors to conduct HAZMAT response training programs for individuals with statutory responsibility to respond to HAZMAT accidents and incidents. To the extent determined appropriate, SPST grant funds may also be used to train individuals responsible for responding to accidents and incidents involving hazardous material.

The Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) Tribal Grant program provides funding for HMEP planning and training activities that advance the safe transport of hazardous materials through training emergency responders and funding planning activities that will protect nearby persons, property, and the environment from the effects of accidents or incidents involving the transportation of hazardous materials.

Pipeline safety and associated environmental protection are a shared responsibility and informed communities play a vital role in the safety and reliability of pipeline operations. The Pipeline Safety Information Grants to Communities: Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) program (Assistance Listing 20.710) provides funding to local communities and groups of individuals for technical assistance related to pipeline safety. The program also provides opportunities that strengthen the depth and quality of public participation in the safe operation of pipelines in and around communities. Technical assistance is defined as engineering or other scientific analysis of pipeline safety issues.

This funding opportunity is associated with Assistance Listing 20.706. PHMSA, through this competitive grant opportunity, is requesting applications from states for Pipeline Emergency Response Grant (PERG) funds. PERG focuses on incidents response activities related to the transportation of gas or hazardous liquids by pipeline in high consequence areas. PERG funding will be awarded to eligible states, counties and local governments to train individuals in areas with statutory responsibility to respond to pipeline incidents.

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration¿s (PHMSA) FY 2026 CAAP NOFO solicits research proposals from nonprofit institutions of higher education for the Pipeline Safety Research and Development (R&D) Program. This program is authorized by section 12 of the Pipeline Safety Improvement Act of 2002 (Pub. L. 107-355) and 49¿U.S.C. § 60117(l). The CAAP competitive research announcement will focus on the following objectives: - Early corrosion prediction for pipelines and implementing appropriate mitigation measures. - Economical and novel agents to mitigate internal or external pipeline corrosion due to microbial-induced corrosion.- Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted software package to assist with composite repair design.¿¿- AI-assisted software tool for interpretation of standards/regulations and properly applying the requirements.¿- Non-destructive inspection technology for cast iron pipeline inspection.- AI-enhanced liquid pipeline leak detection methodologies. ¿

This NOFO will award up to $150 million in Federal funding to eligible entities to reduce idling and emissions at port facilities, including through the advancement of port electrification. The $150 million represents the combined amounts authorized for this program for Fiscal Years (FYs) 2024, 2025, and 2026. FHWA may also award any remaining and available funds from FY 2023 under this opportunity. The actual amount available to be awarded under this notice will be subject to the availability of funds. There is no minimum or maximum award amount for the RTEPF Competitive Grant Program awards.

This funding announcement is open for organizations who successfully submitted to Opportunity VA-SPORTS-26 to submit an amendment to the grant application package, as described under 38 C.F.R. 77.6. As described in the VA-SPORTS-26 Notice of Funding Opportunity:An amendment submitted after the application submission deadline and prior to the grant award cannot change the scope of the original application or increase the amount of the grant requested by more than a total of 10-percent. An applicant seeking to amend its grant application must submit a narrative description of, and clear justification for, the requested changes, and a revised Standard Form 424 (Application for Federal Assistance). States play an essential role in conserving and recovering species listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), 16 U.S.C. 1535. Listed species under NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service’s (NMFS) jurisdiction may spend all or part of their life cycles in state waters, and success in conserving these species depends largely on working cooperatively with the States. NMFS is authorized to provide Federal assistance to eligible State agencies to support the development and implementation of conservation programs for listed marine and anadromous species that reside within that State. This assistance, provided in the form of grants or cooperative agreements through the Species Recovery Grants to States Program, can be used to support conservation activities for any endangered or threatened species, as well as monitoring candidate species, recently delisted species, and species proposed for listing under the ESA. Funded activities may include development and implementation of management efforts, scientific research, and public education and outreach. Proposals should seek to address priority actions in ESA Recovery Plans or Recovery Outlines to the extent possible. Any State agency that has entered into an agreement with NMFS pursuant to section 6(c) of the ESA or enters into such an agreement within 30 days of the application deadline is eligible to apply under this solicitation. The purpose of this Program Announcement (PAR) is to enable clinical validation of strong candidate biomarkers for neurological diseases and conditions. Specifically, the goal of this PAR is to enable the rigorous validation of biomarker measurements within the clinical population of interest to establish the positive and negative predictive values of the candidate biomarker consistent with FDA guidelines. This PAR assumes that 1) a candidate biomarker has already been identified, 2) detection method technology has already been developed and analytically validated, and 3) the research and/or clinical need and potential context of use has been identified.

The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support rigorous analytical validation of method(s) used for measuring biomarkers for neurological and neuromuscular disorders for use in clinical trials or clinical practice. Applicants must justify the unmet need for the biomarker(s) and measurement methods and specify one or two context(s) of use for the biomarker(s). Activities supported include optimizing and evaluating the accuracy, precision, reportable range, and analytical sensitivity and specificity of the detection method across multiple sites and operators and establishing reference intervals and quality control procedures. Multi-site applications are expected but not required.

The purpose of this proposed Notice of Funding Announcement (NOFO) is to support development of biomarkers or clinical outcomes derived from digital health technology (DHT) for use in clinical trials for remote monitoring as primary or secondary endpoints. To improve clinical impact, increase statistical feasibility, and promote standardization, applicants will be expected to develop and test the digitally derived assessments in populations from at least three different diseases or conditions. Partnerships with non-profit patient advocacy organizations will be required.
