The Pathways to Enable Secure Open-Source Ecosystems (PESOSE) program supports the translation of open-source science and engineering-focused research products into safe and sustainable ecosystems that address national and societal challenges. Open-source tools such as software, hardware, machine learning models, languages, and data platforms are designed to be shared as they are publicly-accessible and modifiable. These tools spark innovation in critical fields as varied as artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, banking, healthcare, research, education, next-gen manufacturing, mobility, and National security (including cybersecurity). PESOSE supports the creation of managing organizations for these ecosystems, ensuring strong governance, distributed development, and broad user communities across academia, industry, and government. PESOSE also supports enhancements to the safety, security, and privacy of Open-Source Ecosystems (OSE) by addressing significant vulnerabilities, both technical and socio-technical, to improve the resistance of the ecosystem against threats. This solicitation seeks three types of proposals, allowing teams to propose specific activities to:1) scope and planthe establishment of an OSE, 2)establishand expand a sustainable OSE based on a robust, promising open-source product that meets an emergent societal or national need, and 3) improve the safety, security, and privacy of an existing OSE and its products.

Expected Impact:The projects must contribute to the realisation of additional renewable energy capacity across the EU in a cost-effective way and the timely delivery of renewable energy statistics to the participating Member States. The beneficiaries will be expected to report renewable energy production on an annual basis.Objective:The objective is to contribute to the clean energy transition and the Clean Industrial Deal objectives including the goals and objectives of the Paris Agreement, the 2030 climate and energy targets and 2050 carbon neutrality objective. Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Idea Development Award (IDA) supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate progress toward eradicating deaths and suffering from lung cancer. This mechanism promotes new ideas that are in the early stages of development and have the potential to yield impactful data and new avenues of investigation. Research must address at least one of the FY26 LCRP areas of emphasis.Distinctive Features: This FY26 LCRP IDA mechanism has a New Investigator category that is designed to allow applicants early in their faculty appointments to compete for funding separately from established investigators. Preliminary data to support the feasibility of the research hypotheses and research approaches are required; however, these data do not necessarily need to be derived from studies of lung cancer.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Translational Research Award (TRA) supports advanced translational research that will foster transformation of promising ideas in lung cancer into clinical applications. Research must address at least one of the FY26 LCRP areas of emphasis.Distinctive Features: This funding mechanism intends to support a broad range of translational studies and allows application submission under: Funding Level 1 – Advanced/late-stage preclinical work or correlative studies; or Funding Level 2 – Pilot clinical trials of novel interventions.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Lung Cancer Research Program (LCRP) Patient-Centered Outcomes and Survivorship Award (PCOSA) promotes evidence-based and patient-centered approaches to improve health and lung cancer related outcomes and enhance the patient experience in defined populations. Research must address at least one of the FY26 LCRP areas of emphasis in the Health Outcomes and Survivorship category.Distinctive Features:• This funding mechanism requires the research team to include an advocate who is a lung cancer patient/survivor or caregiver.• This funding mechanism allows proposed projects to include translational or clinical research, including pilot clinical trials.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Data Science Award (DSA) supports research that develops or uses quantitative and analytical approaches, processes and/or systems to obtain knowledge and insight from large and/or complex sets of prostate cancer data in one or more of the following research areas: Analysis of clinically annotated datasets; analysis of -omics data; artificial intelligence and machine learning; bioinformatics; computational biology; digital pathology; epidemiology; and medical imaging. All applications must address one of the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges. Distinctive Features: This funding mechanism allows for multiple Principal Investigators (PIs). Only the initiating PI will submit a pre-application, but all PIs will need to submit full applications. The partnering PI application is an abbreviated package specific to their distinct portion of the research project. Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Physician Research Award (PRA) Supports a mentored research experience to prepare physicians with clinical duties for careers in prostate cancer research. All applications must address one of the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges. Distinctive Features: ·        Early-Career Clinician Investigator: Serves as the Principal Investigator (PI). This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages grant applications for Biomedical Technology Resource Centers (BTRCs). BTRCs are national resource centers for conducting research and development on new technologies that are driven by the needs of basic, translational, and/or clinical researchers. BTRCs also make their technologies available to other investigators, train members of the research community in the use of the technologies, and disseminate the technologies broadly.

Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) invites applications for projects to expand, improve, or transform the utility of mammalian cancer and tumor models for translational research. With this NOFO, the NCI intends to encourage submission of projects devoted to demonstrating that mammalian models or their derivatives used for translational research are robust representations of human biology, are appropriate to test questions of clinical importance, and provide reliable information for patients' benefit. Although the majority living with schizophrenia and related disorders are over 35 years old, including those first diagnosed and those aging with the illness, the mechanisms underlying the generation and trajectory of the illness remain poorly understood. The purpose of this initiative is to advance translational research to better understand the emergence and trajectory of schizophrenia and related disorders in mid to late life, and to identity targets for future development of prevention and treatment efforts.

Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) solicits applications for identification of small molecules that function to elucidate the biology of disease as chemical probes or function as agonists or antagonists of disease target(s) for therapy or immunotherapy. The NOFO is intended to support discovery research for the identification of validated hits relevant to health-related outcomes of participating NIH Institutes. This initiative seeks to solicit applications for research projects that address the link between social disconnection including both objective social isolation as well as perceived social isolation (otherwise known as loneliness) and suicide in late-life. Emphasis is placed on research that identifies neurobiological and environmental mechanisms associated with social isolation and loneliness that increase risk for suicidal thoughts and behavior in late-life, that uses an experimental therapeutics approach to identify targets and develop and test interventions to prevent late-life suicide, and that develops new and modifies existing service delivery models to enhance social connection in late-life to prevent suicide.
